Hey Breezy fans. We have a brand new project for Chris’s birthday coming up with Chris Brown France. We’re hoping to give Chris an amazing 21st birthday present from all of his fans worldwide to show our support and love. Check out the details in the video below!

Chris Brown dominated the headlines in 2009, though not for the reasons he’d hoped. After a February altercation with then-girlfriend Rihanna, he pleaded guilty, was sentenced to probation and counseling, and emerged from it all a changed man.

He capped off the year by releasing a new album, Graffiti, and, as 2009 draws to a close, he looks forward to re-establishing himself as one of the brightest stars in the pop/R&B world. It was quite a journey, and along the way he drew inspiration from many sources — one of which happened to be the music of his contemporaries.

Recently, MTV News sat down with Brown to ask him about the songs and albums that helped him along the way. Because, as he told us, ultimately, it’s all about the music. These are his picks for the album and artist of 2009.

Artist of the Year

“Juelz Santana. … He played me some of his [upcoming] album, and it’s dope. He’s just gotta keep doing him. It took [Lil] Wayne a long time to break mainstream. The last couple years have been his big break. So I think it’s gonna take a while for Juelz to do it, but he got it. Juelz got it. He’s always making great music, so I think he doesn’t have too far to go.”

Album of the Year

“This year? Man, that’s hard. You know what I listened to a lot? Ryan Leslie’s [Transition] album. He’s a dope artist. He did [my song] ‘Famous Girl’ — he produced it — but he’s just a dope artist. I think creatively he’s so unique that I don’t think people get it yet. He’s just so dope. His album’s incredible. I listen to it all the time.”

With all the back-and-forth drama in the media, it’s easy to forget that Chris Brown is a natural born entertainer. And in spite of all the controversy, C. Breezy has persevered and bounced back from a career low point, making him the perfect cover story for our forthcoming Power issue hitting newsstands next week. His third album Graffiti is slated for a December 8th release, a move that some criticize as being “too soon” for someone that’s still making amends for a self-admitted mistake. But for that, we give Chris Brown credit for his redemption, rising out of the ashes with a positive outlook on life, love and happiness. Ladies and gentlemen, Chris Brown is back.

Chris Brown will premier the video for his second single, “Crawl,” on Friday, VIBE has learned.

The video, which features a cameo role from songbird Cassie, is scheduled to debut on the Wendy Williams Show.

In other Chris Brown news, the singer is set to speak on Good Morning America next month. Not a knee-jerk reaction to ex-girlfriend singer Rihanna’s 20/20 interview Friday, which was teased on Good Morning America one day prior, Brown’s interview was set up more than a month ago.

His album, Graffiti, drops December 8, the same day as VIBE’s relaunch issue, which features a Brown cover story.

Apparently, a new track called So Cold, from Chris’s upcoming album, Graffitti, has leaked. You can download/listen to the track here. Chris has also posted a few things about it on his twitter.

Hey all. Don’t know if yall noticed, but Chris posted a new TwitPic! Check it out in our gallery! Lookin sexy, Chris!

Chris Brown releases statement about the CNN Clip.

“There have been reports on the internet that I didn’t remember what happened that night with Rihanna. I want to try and set things straight.

That 30 seconds of the interview they used of me was taken from a one hour interview during which that same question was asked something like 4 or 5 times — and when you look at the entire interview you will see it is not representative of what I said.

The first four times – or how ever many times it was – I gave the same answer — which was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night. I said it was not right for me and it really wasn’t fair to Rihanna. The fifth time – or whatever it was – I just misspoke. I was asked, “Do you remember doing it?” and I said, “No.”

Of course I remember what happened. Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything. But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am or is what happened like anything I have ever done before.

As I have said several times previously, I am ashamed of and sorry for what happened that night and I wish I could relive that moment and change things, but I can’t. I take full responsibility for my actions. What I have to do now is to prove to the world that this was an isolated incident and that is not who I am and I intend to do so by my behavior now and in the future.”

Chris Brown may be in trouble again.

Tuesday, the entertainer was placed under probation by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge. The judge ordered that Brown also serve up to six months of community service for the attack on former girlfriend Rihanna. He has also been ordered to stay away from the songstress during those six months. That night, after the hearing, Brown was seen partying at the L.A. nightclub Guys and Dolls. This wouldn’t have been such a big deal if it weren’t for the fact that the club’s “liquor license is strictly 21+,” says TMZ.

Alcohol Beverage Control was asked if they were going to look into the incident and they said yes but did not mention if it was because of Brown. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, Keri Webb, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Probation Department, told E! News, “It (breaking probation) won’t be taken lightly. If you break the law, you’re in trouble.”
