6 years ago today (August 9), Chris Brown released his very first single, Run It! featuring Juelz Santana. Fans all over the world are celebrating 6 years of Breezy today, watching old videos, listening to Chris’s debut self-titled album, and tweeting #6YearsOfBreezy. Since this date, Chris has released 4 albums, 4 mixtapes, sold over 10 million records, went on 5 headlining tours, and much more. We just wanna take the time out to thank Chris for being such an amazing, talented, and humble artist and always putting his fans first. Happy 6 years of Breezy!
Justin Bieber talked to M Magazine exclusively at the Teen Choice Awards yesterday, August 7, and spilled a little bit about some possible collaborations on his new album. He mentioned that he’s been working with Chris Brown and Will.I.Am. lately. Chris and Justin have already collaborated on 3 tracks previously; Up (Remix), Next 2 You, and Ladies Love Me. Looks like we might be seeing a fourth collaboration from these two very soon!
Tinie Tempah is lining up Adele, Chris Brown and Usher to appear on his second album.
The ‘Written in the Stars’ rapper is currently working on new tracks and hoping to collaborate with a number of stars from the US, as well as “hopefully, fingers crossed, Adele.”
Tinie said a lot of his plans for collaborations come together at large music events, like the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, where he performed this weekend.
He told RollingStone.com: “I like seeing each other in these kinds of environments where everyone’s just drinking a beer and smoking a [cigarette] and chilling out. I think it definitely brings people together.”
Speaking about his hopes to collaborate with Adele earlier this year he said: “I would love to collaborate with her, it would be absolutely incredible, but it’s all about doing it on the right record.”
Tinie, 22, has also been in talks with Usher and Neptunes producer Pharrell Williams, as well as Irish band The Script.
He said: “Pharrell Wiliams has got some really amazing stuff. I’ve been talking to Usher a lot about getting in the studio so hopefully that happens.
“The Script have been sending me loads of stuff back and forth so it’s shaping up nicely. I don’t want to say too much, but it’s going to be fun.”
On his debut album, ‘Disc-Overy’, Tinie had guest stars including female singers Ellie Goulding and Kelly Rowland.
The wait is finally over! Chris’s 4th mixtape, Boy In Detention is finally here. This awesome mixtape features collaborations with Justin Bieber, Wiz Khalifa, Kevin McCall, Joelle James, and many more!
Check out this video of Bow Wow working on his latest mixtape, Greenlight 4. Chris appears for a few seconds near the beginning of the video, which means that we might see a guest appearance from Chris on the mixtape. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we get more info.
Three big artists are ready to get the party started at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Adele, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown have all been announced as performers at the show, airing live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles next month.
This will mark the first time that Adele has graced the VMAs stage. The British chanteuse is up for seven nods for her emotional “Rolling in the Deep” video, including Best Female Artist, Best Pop Video, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Editing and the night’s big prize, Video of the Year.
Brown will return to the stage, after making his unforgettable VMA debut back in 2007. His eye-popping video for “Look at Me Now,” which features Wayne and Busta Rhymes, is up for multiple Moonmen at the big show, including Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Collaboration.
“I am excited about my nominations and to be back on the VMA stage,” Brown said in a statement. “I have a special performance planned for my wonderful fans.”
Wayne himself is also slated to take the stage. He’s got some big nominations up for grabs at the show including best Hip-Hop Video for his “6 Foot, 7 Foot” clip.
“Being a nominee and performer on the VMAs once again is an honor because everyone doesn’t get that opportunity,” Wayne said in a statement. The event coincides with the August 29 release of his upcoming album. “Looking forward to performing on the show, and having Tha Carter IV drop the same week!”
The night is shaping up to be quite the gathering, with stars like Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West and Pitbull up for Moonmen at the show. Word is Kelly Rowland will hit the road as a supporting act for Chris Brown on his upcoming tour. The trek is still in its planning stages and Chris Brown tweeted about it yesterday, saying it’s “about to be crazzzyyy!” but refused to give up any dates or acts until everything is confirmed. He also added that he tour would be “affordable for everybody.”
Rowland has always praised Brown for his music and she recently called his song “Beautiful People” one of her favorite records.
“The song I have on repeat right now would probably have to be Chris Brown’s ‘Beautiful People.’ It’s such an amazing record,” Kelly told ELLE TV of the F.A.M.E. single. “As soon as I hear it, I can’t stop moving. And I smile so big and it’s great when music makes you do that.”
The two got a chance to hang out recently on the set of Brown’s friend Lonny Bereal’s video shoot for “Favor,” which features Rowland. We guess they must of hit it off musically and the rest is history.
Kelly’s new album ‘Here I Am’ hits stores this Tuesday July 26th.
