We’ve added 15 professional photos and 177 fan photos from Virginia Stand Up!: A Call For Action, a concert that Chris organized featuring artists like Trey Songz, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Mario, Tyga, Ryan Leslie, Tank, and many more.
Jade has also sent us a little article she wrote about the concert and her experience. Check it out!:
Ok, so I recently posted a post while I was on the road to Richmond, VA for the VA Stand Up Concert that was hosted by R&B singer Chris Brown. Now that I’m back home, I can comment on it. In all, the concert was AMAZING.
The show opened up with a comedian: Comedian Ron G who kept the crowd laughing while we waited for the performers to hit the stage. The line up was Ryan Leslie, Tank, Bow Wow, Mario, T-Pain, Keri Hilson, Trey Songz. They kept the crowd excited, singing, dancing and screaming until Chris Brown finally hit the stage.
Chris Brown….what can I saw about Chris Brown? Just like the countless times I actually saw Chris perform live,he delivered. He sung songs from all of his Cd’s (Chris Brown, Exclusive, Graffiti)such as Run It, Gimme That, Yo, Ain’t No Way, Wall to Wall, Kiss Kiss, Take You Down , I Can Transform Ya and even his mixtape (In My Zone) No Bullshit, Big Booty Judy and Sex (in which he brought a girl on stage and was singing to her…i was jealous). He sung his verse to songs he was featured in like Drop It Low (Ester Dean). Then he took time out to stop singing and had a dance break. then after the dance break, he brought out rapper Tyga and they performed songs from their mixtape Fan of a Fan (released 5/17/2010) such as Holla @ Me. Chris’ last song of the night was Forever. After performing Forever, he didn’t automatically leave the stage. He took a few seconds to thank everyone and he sent out a personal message to his fans. “To my fans, I let you down before, I wont ever do it again. Thank You.” After he made the message to his fans, I screamed “You didn’t let me down Chris.” That’s when he walked off the stage and the show was over.
I think I’ve seen Chris Brown in person at least 10 times, maybe more. But on Saturday, i felt the same way I feel every time i see him perform: I didn’t want it to end. I wanted him to keep singing and dancing and talking. I NEVER leave a Chris Brown concert disappointed. every time I go to a concert, I sing his songs at the top of my lungs because that’s what Chris does to me. He makes me want to sing along with him. It seems that Chris has that effect on people. And when i leave the concert, I tell myself I have to go to the next one.
Now Chris is getting ready to leave the country to embark on his Fan Appreciation Tour in South America and Europe. I’m not exactly sure when he’ll be back to the States, but I cant wait. I definitely cant wait until the next concert because I will be there singing, dancing, and supporting Chris Brown.
One day, (I always say this) I will get the chance to meet Chris Brown and tell him how much he has an effect on me. But until then, I’ll just continue to go to his concerts and show it.
***And if youve never been to a Chris Brown concert, you need to get to one ASAP.***
“Me and Chris, basically, we met a couple of years ago,” Tyga explained in L.A. on Tuesday about the tape. “We had mutual friends. I always seen him come in the studio when he was with Wayne. It’s crazy, because I never asked him for a track. I never wanted to press up on him like that. One day, he hit me up. He was like, ‘Yo, man, let’s do some songs.’ So I came to the studio. The first two songs [you saw videos for], ‘Holla at Me’ and ‘All the Girls Love,’ them two songs was like the first time we ever recorded. When we recorded them songs, he was like, ‘Let’s do a mixtape.’ It’s crazy, ’cause the mixtape, we did in a whole week. I flew out to VA, and we knocked out the whole mixtape.
“Chris works fast,” he continued. “Me — I ain’t gonna lie — I write slow. I’m real picky. He was knocking the hooks out real quick, I was knocking out the verses. We knocked out, like, three songs a day.”
Fan of a Fan has a dual meaning. Obviously, the tape’s two stars have a mutual admiration for each other, but they also wanted to acknowledge their followings.
“Fan of a Fan is basically our dedication back to the fans,” Tyga explained. “I feel like a lot of people is not doing it for their core audience. These are the people that come to our shows, these are the people that call these radio stations and fight for us all day. So why not give them something for free?”
The tape touches on relationships with the ladies and spending money, and it also pushes C. Breezy as a rapper.
” ‘Deuces,’ it’s about you getting rid of this girl. You try to make it work, but you gotta move on,” Tyga explained. “So you basically put up one finger, then another and say, ‘Deuces.’ ‘Like a Virgin Again,’ that’s one of them old classic 2002 R&B songs. Like holding hands at the dance. That song’s about making a girl feel special, ’cause that’s what all girls want, of course. Telling her like, ‘If you are a virgin or you’re not a virgin, I’mma make you feel like one again.’ ‘What They Want’ is the first song on the mixtape. It’s introducing us together as a duo. It’s what the fans want. ’48 Bar Rap,’ that’s Chris rappin’. Showing his rap skills.
“Chris is a certified rapper,” Tyga added. “That’s straight from Tyga at Young Money. Of course he’s a great singer, but he does his little rap thing too.”
Tyga is working on his next album, Careless World, and said to look out for Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter IV “soon.”
I feel like an idiot for posting this so late but CB and Tyga released the new video for Holla at Me, and it is HOT. Check it out below. Huge thanks to WorldStarHipHop for the video!

From ThatGrapeJuice.com — After a tumultuous 2009, it appears things are finally on the up for Chris Brown. Following the announcement that the R&B star will be taking his ‘Fan Appreciation Tour’ around the globe, BET have confirmed that the 20 year old star will be headlining their forthcoming ‘Spring Bling’ extravaganza on April 10th.
Brown phoned in to the network’s flagship show, 106 & Park, yesterday to elaborate on his appearance – his first ‘proper’ televised set since…you know what.
It’s great to see Chris being allowed to press on with what he does best – entertaining. Mistakes are made – that’s a given; yet they are there to be learned from.
