Brown’s third album “Graffiti” sold 102,000 copies, well below the 150,000-175,000 units he was expected to sell. His last set, “Exclusive,” debuted at No. 4 in 2007 with 294,000.
The R&B star, looking to get his career back on track after he was convicted of beating up then-girlfriend Rihanna in February, took to his Twitter account during the weekend to accuse retailers of “blackballing” his album — a charge that anecdotal evidence suggested was unfounded. (Rihanna’s fourth album, “Rated R,” debuted at No. 4 earlier this month with a personal-best 181,000 copies, and is currently at No. 25).

Chris Brown has deleted his Twitter account, just after criticizing Walmart for not stocking his new album, Graffiti, on their shelves. The department store chain responded by saying they display the LP in all their stores.
The 20-year-old singer said on his account Sunday, “JUST WAS AT WALMART IN Wallingford, CT, 844 north colony.. the didn’t even have my album in the back? not on shelves, saw for myself?we talked to the managers and the didn’t even know anything. wow!!! but they had Alicia keys album ready for release for this tuesday comin?no disrespect to Alicia at all.. just givin an example to whos album is loaded and ready to go next week. “
But Walmart disproved Brown’s claim, saying in a statement obtained by eonline.com, “We are surprised at the comments online. All Walmart stores nationwide have carried the CD since its release, including the Wallingford, [Conn.], store mentioned in the post.”
“This store actually sold through its initial shipment over the weekend. The majority of our stores today are showing they do have copies available.”
Brown released “Graffiti” on December 8.
He has now deleted his Twitter account, with the last message: “I WANNA THANK MY FANS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT. I LOVE YALL. GOODBYE!!!!!”

Shamed R&B singer Chris Brown has lashed out at music retailers who are refusing to stock his latest album following his conviction for attacking ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
The “Kiss Kiss” hitmaker has kept a low profile since the assault in February, for which he was sentenced to six months hard labour and five years’ probation in July.
But despite several public apologies over the incident, the controversy surrounding Brown refuses to go away – he insists several major stores are “blackballing” his comeback record Graffiti, which was released on Tuesday.
On his Twitter.com page, Brown rants, “I’m tired of this s–t. Major stores r (are) blackballing my cd. Not stocking the shelves and lying to costumers. What the f–k do I gotta do…”
He adds, “WTF… yeah I said it and I ain’t retracting s–t. I’m not biting my tongue about s–t else… the industry can kiss my a–.”
It is not known which retailers are reportedly refusing to sell the album.

Following the February 8 incident that completely changed his life by chipping off his clean image, Chris Brown has had to take a lot of heat in the media for his personal life. What he can’t – and won’t – stand, though, is to have his music blacklisted, which is precisely what is happening right now with his latest album, “Graffiti,” he says in an angry post on his Twitter page.
Estimates say that “Graffiti,” released just a few days ago, will not manage to sell more than 100,000 copies in its first week, and even that is an idealist prediction. Sales won’t certainly get to reach that number if the music industry continues to boycott his work, Brown tweets. What he means by that is that music stores refuse to display his album on their shelves, pushing it all the way to the back, in a bid to keep sales down, he explains.
Not that he cares that much either, he goes on to say. “I’m ti

Chris Brown is responding to ex-girlfriend Rihanna’s “20/20″ interview with one of his own.
In clips that aired on “Good Morning America” on Thursday, the singer told ABC News’ Robin Roberts he understood the effects of his domestic violence.
“I can see what damage it does, mentally, more than physical,” he said.
Rihanna previously explained in her “20/20″ interview with Diane Sawyer that the mental scars were worse than any physical ones, after Chris assaulted her on the morning of February 8. He is currently serving out a five-year probation after pleading guilty to felony assault charges.
In the new interview, Chris continued to distance himself from his violent outburst.
“I never ever had problems with anger. No, no domestic violence with any of my past girlfriends,” the young star said. “I never was that kind of person. … I look at it, and it’s really, like really difficult. It’s like, ‘How could I be that person?’”
And Chris answered critics who have attacked him for not seeming genuinely remorseful in previous interviews.
“I think what it is when people see me smiling and kind of nonchalantly getting answers or, or saying things. It’s — I’m human, really, I’m like really hurting inside,” he said. “And it really kind of like is devastating to me.
“I was wrong for what I did,” he continued. “And I would definitely say that it’s not something that I look past or look over. Something that’s really, really touchy. And, like I said, I’m really sorry for — for what went down. And what happened.”
The full interview will air on Friday’s “20/20″ at 10 PM ET.
